About

Why a client at all

warheatmap.app has daily readers all over the world. They needed a room, not another platform.

IRC is open, federated, forty years old and still the fastest way to talk in text. What it lacked was the layer people expect in 2026: history you can scroll back into, reactions, threaded replies, notifications. IRCv3 provides all of that; our home network runs it. VoxTerrae is the client that makes it one click, and it keeps EFnet in the same window, a /join away, because that is where some of us have lived since the nineties.
